Hello I am getting ready to do a clean install of windows 7 on my PC. What would I need before I do the clean install and what is the proper order to install drivers. Also where would I get the drivers from? Should I let Windows pick the drivers or get them off my manufactures website?

Here Are My Computer Specs:

Also, consider doing Windows Updates in clumps of 10 at a time; 1-2 mega giants at a time. I use notify me when downloads are available so that I can download and install small groups at a time.

addendum: I meant the above only after being able to get back onto the internet

There is no particular order, but follow Gav`s advice, if you can`t get online, you can`t do anything.

Did you build the PC yourself ? Did you purchase the motherboard, if so it will have the drivers cd with the network drivers on it.

The only thing I'd recommend updating after Windows updates are all up to date is the GPU driver.

...and maybe do some disk imaging at different stages of the installation. Macrium Reflect and a (tested) winPE boot USB works fine. Good to have in case something (experiments) doesn't go as planned (and safeguard some early 'everything ok' images, to be able to easily revert to a 'fresh install' state if ever needed after some time of use of the pc). Good Luck.

There are raid drivers it says to pre install should I do those too?

Not unless you are doing a raid setup.

But get all the proper drivers for your motherboard (audio, chipset, network, graphics) so you will have fewer problems after installing Windows.

When should I install my graphics card divers?

When Windows Updates has completely finished.

Imaging with Macrium is a good shout, let us know if you're interested in that and we'll show you how.
