Down Arrow Key Beeps problem

I am using a Lenovo T410i running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit. Whenever i am using a web browser (i mainly use Google Chrome but i tried it in Firefox and had the same problem) sometimes i have a problem with the down arrow key. Sometimes when i press it, it beeps 3 times and a window opens on the top left corner of the screen, the same window that will open if u right click up in the top left corner. Its the window for resizing, maximizing and minimizing your window. Along with that, after my next click, my current webpage goes to the previous webpage, basically acting like the backspace key. I have NO IDEA what to do, ive tried looking around Google but cant find anything. This happens randomly, not all the time. The beeping is now also occuring while i use iTunes and MS Words. For those programs, sometimes when i press the down arrow, i hear the 3 beeps and they just minimize.

If it's consistent through applications it could be a problem with the keyboard itself. Try connecting a separate usb keyboard to the laptop and use that for a while to see if it still happens.

It might be the key between the right alt and control keys that is stuck.

If your keyboard has them, install the drivers.

So you tried it and it didn't work or you just don't think that's it so you're not gonna try it?

If you dismiss every idea because you don't think that is the problem, good luck solving it.

i tried it. USB keyboard worked fine. theres something wrong with my laptop and its not any of the keys being stuck. its irritating the heck outta me

Go to your manufacturer's website and see if they have motherboard drivers available.

Ok so i installed the BIOS update, problem is still present. Which drivers should i update cuz im not sure?

Maybe the Hotkey Features Integration Update?

It's hard to say. It might be easier to just download the ThinkVantage Update Utility and have it find/show you all the possible updates you might need or want to apply to the system:

I know this thread is old but I have the same computer with similar specs and I am having the same EXACT issue and it is driving me insane.

Did this problem ever get resolved?

I tried all of the above and am considering it is a hardware issue.
