Hi,

Now all new HP laptops are comes with Windows 7. OK. I need to use XP. I install Windows 7 before to save the recovery partition (since there is no media for the Win 7). Now when I have installed Windows 7 i simply used XP CD and run XP setup..... the disk drive structure was not as i was expecting, "C" drive was showing "System" and size was few MB. Instead "D" drive was "data" drive, SO its look I have to install XP on partition "D" instead of "C".
I am looking for some tips that allow me to install XP on "C" partition. ( I deleted C and D partition and creadted a new called "C" but now recovery not working.).
Please let me know some ideas about it (not recomed that i have to create the CD for the Win7 recovery or system image ).
I need to save recovery partition as well and wich XP on C drive instead of "D"

Malik, do you want to install XP and preserve Windows 7? If not, just format the drive and install it. Quickest way.
Have you considered using XP in virtual mode?

it seems that you already have deleted your recovery partition, so you there's nothing you can recover now. The only thing you can do is just to install xp

Did you delete the Recovery partition? Try running Recovery by using the key given on first bootup screen. If you are able to recover, use these steps: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/8057-dual-boot-installation-windows-7-xp.html

If you cannot run Recovery, you'll need to find a Win7 installer for your version to reinstall, or contact you manufacturer's tech support to get the Recovery Disks. You could have made these Recovery Disks from the Recovery partition before you disabled it, just as you could have made a Win7 backup image to reimage your HD in 15 minutes.

Hi all

Dear , my purpose is NOT to acive the dual boot.... also i tested that If i do not delete the "C" partion on win 7 (that is labeled as SYSTEM) and then install the XP on "D" drive and do not delete recovery partitions, all goes well......... but only dislike thing is that now i have XP on "D" instead of "C".
Deleting "C" of win7 and installing xp on it just simoly sacrificing the win7 recovery partition.

.... In short , I want recovery partition (F11) and XP on "C" instead of "D"
Can any give me some idea ?
