If that is the full retail DVD
Just boot from the DVD and you will get the option for a clean install, with format.

What about the drivers given by the Win7 installer, and quickly updated via optional Windows Updates?

Were these changed out before they were given a chance to check performance?

It is not necessary to change out the drivers given by the Win7 installer or update by optional Windows Updates until you have a performance problem with them.

If you have missing drivers then post back the device and we will help you find them.

I'll ask again: Did you change out the drivers given by the installer before you had a chance to test performance, or before optional Windows Updates provided the newer versions?

I am amazed at the number of people who think Win7 is like XP so they have to have their drivers all lined up in order to install as soon as the new Win7 install starts up.

This is not XP. MS spent a fortune paying to build drivers so they would be in the Win7 installer and quickly updated by optional Windows Updates. These are the drivers Win7 wants to operate, with rare exception.

Only if there are drivers missing after optional updates should you change out any drivers without having a performance reason to do so.

If you have done this then I would start over with install to wiped HD to get the cleanest slate: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html
