Thank you for the responses. So far, nothing has helped. Frustrating because I did this before with no problems. So in reply: 1. My screen shows no My Computer. 2. Same with Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Autoplay suggestion. 3. AutoPlay appears to be enabled: a window appears w/ 2 options: (1) open folder and view files, & (2) speed up my system. View More Options in Control Panel no help. When I click on (1) I see the contents of the flash drive. Further left and right clicks only result in Media Play responses. FYI, I'm trying to download the latest VueScan program. My Windows computer has no internet, so I use my Linux to initially download to a flash drive.
How do I download a file from a flashdrive to Windows 7? I did this once before with no problem, but for some reason was unable to correctly do it today.

Forget all this autoplay crap. Open the drive, drag the file where you want it. There isn't any more to it than that.
As already suspected by Devux, this may be the key. Right click on the file and go to properties. What do you see as "Type of File".so I use my Linux to initially download to a flash drive
