Download Path Problem

I use to be able to download a program's install .exe to my desktop. Now when I try to do that I receive a pop up that basically says that this is a "non valid path". This just started a couple of days ago. I did do a system restore a couple of days ago but I only went back approx. 3 days and i never had this problem before that. For that matter I have never had Win7 do this to me.

I don't know the answer to your particular problem, but I have a downloads folder on an external hard drive and whenever I download anything I always use the Save As option, and point the installer to my downloads folder on that drive.

That way, I've always got the software for future reference in case it's needed again.

Hello Lartomar,

You might double check using OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to see if your C:\Users\(user-name)\Desktop folder is still set with it's default location. Be sure to also run the attrib command at step 23 in case it may have a wrong attribute set to it.
