Downloaded stuff to Appdata Virtualstore --> internet apps don't work!
Yeah writing this with a mobile phone.
I have been downloading some music and movies and by default they are saved to Appdata Virtualstore folder instead of program files. Suddenly internet apps (firefox, chrome, msn messenger, yahoo messenger, steam) stop working due to a connection error even though wifi signal strenght is excellent and network adapters work normally!
Troubleshooting:
Windows has automatically reduced virtual memory page size from user defined 4GB to 700mb even though I haven't authorised this. Why is this?
--> I made some more hdd space and played with settings in order to get page size back to normal. After several restarts size jumped up to 5500mb and recommended size is 5700mb. Now the size is 1422mb because windows is adjusting it after restarts even though I have selected user-defined size 5000 - 12000mb.
--> This step hasn't helped, internet apps still don't work due to connection error.
I ran memory scan --> no faults found, no help.
I ran CCleaner to analyze --> it gets stuck at 16% at System Windows Log files.
I ran safe mode with network settings --> no help, the same connection error occurs.
What to do? Is the size of Appdata Virtualstore folder somehow linked to the usage of virtual memory page size? I transferred all the files from Virtualstore to program files but that didn't help either.
I suspect the issue has something to do with the virtual memory page size since the laptops performance has for some months been dependant on it, 4GB ram isn't enough. Earlier any slowness issues have been fixed with big enough page size but now I don't know what to do.
