Drag and Drop and Copy Paste of Files stopped working

It is no longer possible to drg and drop files or to copy and paste them..

The trick with using the ESC Key does not work.

How can this problem be fixed?

Run system restore to a point before the problem started.

What is your memory situation. I know I had these problems when I was running out of available memory.
