OK so I gave the Dragon Age 2 demo a try – my thoughts….
Graphics – from what we have in the demo I have to say it does look like a step backwards. I know these are supposed to be medieval times and there’s a blight…. but, to paraphrase a post I read, it’s a blight, not a nuclear disaster where everything is completely washed away!
Yeah, the graphics look that bad! It's as though the developers said "hey this is a medieval game, lets save on graphics". They definitely get an A in that department :sarc:
Gameplay – just when I got nice and use to DA1’s game play they change it up. It’s not that bad, but it is slightly different. For those of us who played ME1 & 2, think gameplay changes like that – minor, but enough to annoy.
Dialogue – hate the emoticons associated with the dialogue choices. Really! Are we that dense that we need color coded emoticons!?!?!?!?
Characters – The only thing I have to say is what childish mentality went into the design of the women. Someone obviously has a thing for huge boobs. Hmmm…. If your mom hates Dead Space 2 I can only imagine what she would think of Dragon Age 2 when she meets Isabella
Performance – I set the game on Very High using DX11 and yeah, I did notice some stuttering, especially during the cut scenes. A bit annoying, but the final game hasn’t been released yet so hopefully they can fix that before release. Hopefully. Anyway you can check my system specs and here's the settings I used…
With that said I did actually enjoy the demo and look forward to getting the game. If nothing else, curiosity definitely got the better of me. Who knows, maybe the graphics get better as the game progresses.
My two cents
