Drive by Download! Help

Hi i recently went on this website and as soon as i went on there i encountered a drive by download i think. My computer automatically downloaded a trojan horse virus.

When ever i reboot my laptop my avg shows a warning then a few minutes it says threat removed, But this is happening everytime i reboot my computer. Aalso every now and then when i load up my firefox i get a warning about a cookie.

Is there any way i can fully remove all of these or any help would be highley appriciated.

Try running a full scan.

Download and install Malwarebytes, run it and let it do it's thing, it should find out what the prob is, dont forget to update Malwarebytes first, hope this helps.

Hi thanks for your adivce, im running full scans in everything,

Full scan in:

avg 8.5
Windows Defender
Malwarebytes 1.40

Ill let you know hwo it goes hopefully it will all be sorted out.

Ok when i load up windoews messenger im getting this warning.

I amm running all o my programs which i have listed above but so far nothing has came up on the results. Would system restore resolve this issue?

Its a low threat tracking cookie. if you think it is a threat goto its location and delete it

anyhoo, any luck with the cookie monster, i mean virus, Paul?
i would suguest booting in safe mode, and runnig cc cleaner, with all options selected (except for "wipe freespace") that will delete any cookies, logins, and any temopary files that the virus may have created. then run a full system scan with your A/V.

Thanks everyone for all of your help, i system resotred and since then i have not seen any warning at all so hopefully everything will be safe.

Say the virus/cookie was still there could it get any of my passworeds or see what i am typing in?

Ye, i already have this program i find it good. as it takes well over a hour for the scan to complete so ill do the scan tomorrow morning.
