drive not recognized, is there any way to get my data?

You mean the source HD in question? You would be copying to an external (only) if that's not clear. For some reason it won't copy to USB if another USB drive is used to boot from. So I'd use the disk. Paragon might work better.

But there's 90% chance there will be no drive found during file rescue if it's not first detected in BIOS, so check your storage section there, if not detected change cables and check again.

What do you mean when you say storage section. Is that the tab/panel named main? I saw 6 sata titles and all were not connected.

Yes. Did you change the cables to drive? I'd also try changing the port to see if it will show up at all there. If not then there's not much you can do.

I'd probably also install it on another PC to see if it shows up in Explorer, Disk Mgmt, or if Partition Wizard can see it which sometimes is the case if the other two can't so that it's Disk Check can bring it back to life.

Otherwise replace it to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

I had already walked him through testing with another cable, he has also tried using the drive in question on another computer and it wasn't recognized there as well, to me it sounds unless there is someone in his area that does full drive rebuilding (swapping plates), he is out of luck on that drive.

Yes as said I have tried those already except for the partition wizard, hopefully I can get a chance to try that tomorrow.

Just remember when messing around with Partitions, if you delete your partition that is on it, you loose everything on that drive.

When you have it plugged in, and you turn on your computer do you hear the drive start up?

Also you can try to do a new install of windows, just don't delete or format and your stuff should still be there, you will need to reinstall your programs, and move files from your old documents folder to the new one windows will create.

Hard drive is DEAD

Sorry To say...but hard luck buddy. Nothing can be done. Nothing can be done even to recover data except data recovery services. If data is damn important, spend money and get your data back.
