The reason you can't extend C is because D is not fully deleted first. You must not only delete the Logical partition, but then you must rightlick to Delete the Logical volume which is its container.
Then you will be able to Extend C into the space: Partition or Volume - Extend
If this fails, use free Partition Wizard which treats Unallocated (Primary) and Free Space (Logical) the same for purposes of Resizing. You'l be able to resize C into the deleted D space without further problem.
