Anyone know if this hard drive would be fully compatible (just plugin and go) with my Sony Vaio AW-190 Laptop?

Do I need any special cables or anything need to be done beside remove old drive and plug this in?

Nope, no cables are necessary.

Hard drives are pretty straightforward. You only need to know 2 things: Size (3.5 or 2.5) and interface (IDE or SATA).

I strongly suspect your laptop uses SATA, especially if it was purchased in the past few years. You can double check in Device Manager, if you find the drive's model number and Google it.

I just read this,
The SAS backplane connector was designed to accept either a SAS drive or a SATA drive, while making provisions for a dual-ported SAS drive. SAS connectors add a notch to the SATA connector to ensure that SAS drives can only be plugged into SAS systems. This is required because SATA host controllers do not understand SCSI protocols and will not recognize a SAS drive. Notching the SAS drive connector prevents a SAS drive from being plugged into a SATA host controller, which would result in a non-functioning drive.

Well, it is listed as a notebook drive, just have no idea of what notebook comes with a SAS controller.

OMG, newegg needs to fix that... It's an enterprise class 2.5" HDD, it's too thick compared to a normal laptop HDD, it won't fit to the HDD slot...

Ps. Newegg needs to fix their inventory data, that HDD is not laptop's HDD. Just because it's 2.5" doesn't mean it's laptop's HDD... Holy molly... Can anyone email newegg?
