Chasing drivers on an reformat/install is painful. Is there any online sites that can interogate my Win7 and offer downloads etc??

There are programs such as Driver Detective, that will scan your system but you will have to buy the program to get their downloads.

Windows 7 will install many drivers automatically. You will need the vendor (Gigabyte in your case) supplied sound driver for full operation as the generic Windows installed HD Audio Codec is only a basic function sound driver. You can download the latest video driver from the Video vendor (AMD (ATI) or NVIDIA). Other that these two you probably won't need others.

Basically install and then see what isn't working or working correctly and download those from Gigabyte and/or the video card's vendor. No need to pay to get drivers.

In addition to having to pay for the program(s) to actually download the file(s) (many will show you what they think you need free of charge, but won't actually allow any downloading until said program is paid for and registered), some have been known to recommend drivers for hardware not even installed on your system and also the drivers they do offer can be older versions of the ones that you can find and download free of charge from the actual hardware manufacturer's website.

What I did was use DoubleDriver to save off all the current Win7 drivers to a USB stick.

Then, when I reinstalled, I simply inserted the USB stick, and went through all the "missing" devices in device manager and reinstalled the drivers. Took only a few minutes to do this.
