Hi, im trying to install W7 x64 on my acer extensa 4420. it has 4gbs, amd turio 64 x2 2.0, ati radeon x1250.

The thing is, when the computer hibernates and boots up again the screen looks all messed up, and when the computer starts says that the catalyst control center has stopped working.

Also when it boots up after hibernation, the sound wont work, and sometimes the wireless either.

When i restart the pc it goes back to normal.

Ive tried the drivers that w7 automatic installs and the one on acer's page.

Any ideas? Heres a picture of how it looks

Have you tried turning off the Hybernation? If everything is fine, then do without it. I have some backups that run during the night, so I don't use Hybernation. It is not a necessity. Let us know what happens.

There is a hibernate and a sleep. Here is the difference

Hibernation is a power-saving state designed primarily for laptops. While sleep puts your work and settings in memory and draws a small amount of power, hibernation puts your open documents and programs on your hard disk, and then turns off your computer. Of all the power-saving states in Windows, hibernation uses the least amount of power. On a laptop, use hibernation when you know that you won't use your laptop for an extended period and won't have an opportunity to charge the battery during that time.

If you think sleep might serve you as well, you could try that and see how your screen does.
