Driver for my Processor Or Motherboard?

I am wondering. What should I look for new drivers for. So far I have only found that I should look for my graphics card, My sound card, My PCI card. That is it. Do I look for driver up dates for my processor. If so where is the one for mine exactly. I tried to find it on the AMD site. But I could not find it any where. It is a AMD Athlon(tm) X4 630 Processor. Could someone please give me the exact link if so. Also what else should I be looking for driver updates for. I have gone into my device drivers and tried doing them all in there by Google them. But I can not quite figure it out completely.

As an easy step you could try to update them in Device management (in Properties of the device). There is one for your board, but not for the CPU.

I could not find the one for my board on foxcon. My mother board is a Manufacturer=Foxcon model=2AB1. It came with my computer i did not make my computer. It came from best buy. It was not very expensive either. So I am thinking that maybe that is why. When I do that it never updates them to the newest update. I did it with my graphics card. It was like one I haven't even seen yet. The first number didn't even match. Like it was 6 or something. I have an 8 right now. I am just talking about the first number in the version number by the way.

I just did the update my video card. It brought it back to an older update. I just got done manually updating it. I tried it for the heck of it and it brought it back. Err

There is this old saying." If it ain't broke, don't fix it". If your system works, I would not worry about updating drivers.

It sounds like you have an OEM system, at which point you'd be going right to the manufacturer's website for updates.

Yes I do have an OEM. What I mean is What drivers do I need to update. All I want to know is witch drivers do I need to update. That is all. Nothing else. I always get responds. But I never just get a simple answer to my questions. I even started numbering them. Thinking people might number there answers back. Nope, That did not work. All I want to know is witch drivers do I need to go to the Manufacturer and get updates for. Like Obviously my Graphics Driver. My audio driver. Is there any other driver I need to go to the Manufacturer and update?

Not all updates fix everything.
It's usually suggested that you install the latest drivers, but if you're not having a problem and all is well, then as said in a previous post, if it's not broken, don't fix it.

I updated XP from SP2 to SP3 and installed all the updates and noticed that IE took forever to appear. This happened more than once and on more than one computer. With over 80 updates even after SP3, who knows what got screwed up.

The device manager shows you what you need to install.
I would suggest updating the sound card, graphics and ethernet drivers.
I haven't heard of updates to the CPU.
People flash the bios to address CPU compatibility and RAM issues, but if you're not experiencing
any CPU or RAM issues, then you should be fine.

I believe that the Windows 7 64 bit OS uses signed drivers, which minimizes crashes.
So many of the best drivers have already been installed.

Yes I forgot my Ethernet Driver. I have done those three and that is it. So I guess I have done good. Okay, Will keep it that way. Thank you.

I will just keep it this way then. I like that concept. Then I do not have to worry about accidentally doing something I will regret. I am not exactly a computer Guru. Though I want to go to school for computers. I have decided this is what I want to do. Pretty much what goes on in these forums. I want to know everything about computers and how they work. I want to know how to fix anything. I do not want to design I want to work with them inside and out. I am getting my GED right now then I plan on trying to go to school for it.
