Can anyone suggest a decent freeware for Managing driver updates.
1. The software should have a frequently updated database.
2. would be good if i can backup my drivers.
3. Really appreciate a resumable download option.

Plz mention all the freeware you like..:geek:

I don't recommend the use of this type of software. Instead, get the drivers directly from the hardware manufacturers themselves.

For your current system, as listed in your Specs:

Audio (Realtek): Realtek

Graphics (ATI): Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM (32-bit) or Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM (64-bit)

Mouse and Keyboard: No specific drivers found on manufacturers websites, so need to use generic driver built in to Windows 7.

Motherboard: http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1899 Note that the drivers listed here are several revisions behind those of the hardware manufacturers.

1. Not needed, the links Dwarf posted are all you need.

2. Why? Just save the most recent installer for any driver, and replace after a new one is downloaded. Not sure why you would want to "backup" drivers, as they will have to be installed regardless, you can't just copy and paste the files in.

3. Unless you have a really flaky or dial-up connection, again why? The ATI driver suite is ~73 MB and the Realtek is around ~37 MB. None are large enough to warrant a download manager.

Also looking at your specs you can ignore the drivers from MSI as the full ATI Catalyst Suite will update not only your video card (HD 5750), it will also update the chipset (785G) and any other ATI/AMD specific drivers. That makes one download that updates almost everything in your computer.

Most of those driver programs don't do much more than compare whatever version you have currently installed with whatever is the current version available from the manufacturer. Then most of them will either provide a link to the manufacturer or some 3rd party site to download it. While there are some free ones they won't do much more than that. The sad part about these programs are the ones that charge for what is freely available.

:sleepy:The reason for a need to backup drivers is for System Re- installment.
I have a Dell Alienware R3 and their website is never up-to -date for drivers downloads. I bought the Advanced Driver Updater and got 21 new drivers-some not even listed at the Dell Website for Driver downloads.
The reason I bought the Alienware was because they promised they would keep them updated unlike what they had done in the past. I wanted an all Intel system so their Driver Scan Tool could always keep me up to date. However their promise of keeping the Alienware updated sold me. They came out with the Alienware FX that is supposed to get updates, but it newer finds one.
I would like to backup all the new drivers and burn them to disk, so that I won't be 21 driver updates behind should I need to reinstall!
Does any one know if Easeus To-do will back up the drivers with the System Backup? I don't have the actual drivers.exe since the Advanced Driver Updater installed them-no option of save them so they could be copied!

Can't get but a 7.2 on WEI. I would like to set the HHD up for storage but don't know how to get them formatted to work together!
Advanced Driver Updater is worth it's cost.

Don't even think of knocking the Advanced Driver Updater Tool unless you try it. I have Windows set to update Automaticall new drivers, but I didn't even have an USB input driver! If you could save their drivers and burn them to disk it would be a God Send!
