Hello.I have just updated my drivers and for an pc imbicil(like me) it is not bad to get some help, and i mean the many software editions that simply takes care of everything and it is not like being ripped off, about 50 us dollars can cover it,i do not think i have to mention the name because i have only experience with one program and i am convinced that many editions can get the job done just as fast and simple as the one i am refering to,but for new pc owners, perhaps it is not a bad idea, when you know what can happen if you install the wrong driver.Kind Regards Asser:D

You're free to use whatever you want, but I've tried several of the more well-known driver install apps and, in all cases, they were flawed. Errors included: trying to install older versions of drivers I already had, trying to install the wrong drivers for my hardware, telling me a driver was obsolete when, in fact, I KNEW it was the most current.

Generally, the best approach is to get your driver updates from the source -- the hardware vendors that provide the drivers in the first place.

This. Why pay for something that is free to begin with. That and the only drivers you should really be updating on a properly functioning system (not counting external peripherals), is the video and possibly the sound drivers. Chipset drivers should be the latest at the time of the Windows install and only updated if the update contains a fix(es) that you might be having. System drivers (those native to Windows itself) are only updated through Windows Update (and then very rarely that that happens), despite what most of those "driver update" programs will tell you.

Easiest way to update those that might need it is to create a folder in your Favorites/Bookmarks, and keep links to the relevant device manufacturer and check once a month or so.

I use use DriverPack Solution >> Best Drivers installation Software when fresh installing customers PC's, but like Mark Phelps said... there is always flaws in Driver packs
for example, Just last night i worked with an old P4 Fujitsu Cordant and it assumed it was a laptop and instlled touchpad drivers for the mouse :/
however its one of the best packs i have ever used and it takes a lot of time an effort out of manually finding and downloading various drivers for 100's PC's & Laptops
DPS is a recommendation i would give to anyone who isnt sure of what to do after a fresh install but it not fool proof.
