Hello all,

I'm new here but have been browsing to see if I can figure out my problem. I may not have looked hard enough but I've seen some others with the same problem I have.. which is Windows 7 not reconigzing my Graphics Card. My taskbar is not functioning properly along with a lot of Windows 7's new graphic features. My drivers won't install properly, or they will and nothing will happen or it will ask me if I want to replace files.. and I do and still nothing works.

My specs are
EVGA 9800gx2 1gig
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core +5000 2.6ghz
3gigs of RAM
Windows 7 32bit

Sorry if this has been answered already, still trying to learn my place around. I tried some of the Driverupdate programs laying around here but they didn't help me solve my problem.

I have two 9800GX2's. Windows update should install the windows driver automatically if its online. Once they are installed, go and download the most recent Nvidia drivers from their site. If the drivers are still not working it may be either an issue with your hardware setup and/or your copy of Win7.

Windows 7 does try to install them automatically but it ends up saying the download did complete due to an error. I tried updating through the website only to have no outcome. I've even removed the drivers completely and tried reinstalling and that didn't work either.

I tried Vista drivers too and that didn't work. It could be hardware but everything works fine on XP. Windows 7 just isn't reconigzing my Graphics Card and I have no idea why It shows my card in the Control panel, but the drivers won't install properly.

Ok so I just completely got rid of the drivers and software for Nvidia and tried to Install the new latest driver by hand for the 9800gx2 and It said..

"The Nvidia Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."

This leads me to want to ask what version of 7 are you running and where did you obtain the ISO from?

The latest im assuming. I got a trial copy from a friend that's cousin is certified to test things for microsoft. It is an ISO though. My neighbors used it on their PCs and works fine.

I don't recall exactly how to do this, but I do know that if you go into Windows via safe mode, it will tell you what build you are on. I know mine is 7600. Also, have you attempted to re-seat the card? That sometimes can help if it doesn't have a good connection.

A lot of people say that when all in all, they torrent the iso. The disk does come from MS as an iso if you have the ability to download it through technet but most of these "testers" are just your avg guy that downloaded it and is trying it out. Problem is, it could still be a problem with the install disk. I would recommend obtaining a new disk and re-installing windows altogether.

i agree with the above too. my first attempt at obtaining windows 7 was from a bad torrent too. the interface looked similar, but it wasnt running as smooth as it was supposed to. Get a new one and it should work fine
