driver update software

is there realy not just a few driver programs,that do what it is supposed to do,i mean is there a quality,that do not make all these mistakes,but just a few errors,there must be a difference in functionality,i have tryed powersuite from uniblue who is microsoft gold certificate partner,why can they not do it right and i mean they because driver genius professional edition also makes fatal mistakes,in defence it should be told that the drivers it updates succesfully,realy does not come newer.
the last driver software i have tryed is driver checker,i have not found any mistakes yet,but i am sure it will come. do you have a favorite driver updater who does not make to many mistakes,i would very musch like to hear about it,because i think the idear is brilliant(if it is working)for new pc owners,like my self

Yeah, a couple of links saved in my bookmarks for the few drivers that might require an update. Short of the video and sound drivers, you shouldn't need to update anything. External peripherals (printers, mouse, etc) can be updated from the respective manufacturer.

Sound and video drivers are really the only core drivers that should be updated on a properly working system, and even then they don't need to be updated unless the update contains fixes to an issue you may be having or compatibility fixes for games.

Chipset drivers should only be installed on a fresh Windows install, and then only updated if you art having a problem and there is an update that address it.

I personally take the position that driver updating is vastly overrated -- that is -- it's something that rarely needs to be done. When a new Windows version comes out, there is a flurry of driver updates while the hardware suppliers try to get their new drivers finalized, but after that, there is little need for additional updates.

I had one exception recently when I bought a new motherboard (Gigabyte) which required new Realtek LAN drivers, and it took a couple of updates before the drivers worked right.

But I would strongly suggest you NOT use driver update apps to do this, but instead, get the driver from the hardware suppliers.
