Hello,
I've just installed win7 in my desktop and find some driver not found in win 7 support. I used a very old sound card Creative sound blaster live model ct430, a gigabtye graphic card model ATI Radeon 9200 gv r92128dh. Hv tried installed KX driver for the sound but no audio output when play any media. Installed the latest ATI catalyst 10.6 but the error stated my grahic do not support directx . Ive used these items for my xp win platform all the time w/out any problem. pls help me to get all these driver.

You may be able to use the XP drivers if you install them in compatibility mode

to do that right click teh installer>properties>compatibility>XP sp3

let us know if that doesnt work

Thank you everyone for helping me to resolved the problem. Hv tried running the upgrade adviser and found the sound card is not compatible with win7 ,graphic card not window aero support. Tried zigzag 3143's method to install my graphic card and it works and the display adapter is Radeon 9200. Can I install also the latest ATI catalyst 10.7 for my graphic display control? But the sound was not working using this method. Any other method for this card .I think hv to buy a win7 sound card.

Jon, I'm pretty sure he said the sound card still isn't working, but he got his video card driver installed.

The best thing for old hardware lacking driver support is to buy new hardware. A decent sound card isn't very expensive at all.

Try installing the drivers this way.

Have browse though this thread http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/21804-creative-sound-cards.html and you may get lucky and find a driver or work around for that sound blaster live card.

No you will not be able to install the 10.7 on your 9200. That card is just too old and as such all support for it was dropped, with the last driver for it being for XP from 2006,

which will work for that card in Windows 7 if installed using compatibility mode.

As for your sound card, again it is too old (originally came out over 10 years ago) with the last driver for it being from 2003 for XP. You can try the XP driver but not sure how well it will work, or you can try the one in the link that alphanumeric posted under #4.

You can also try the Kx driver,

Hi Stormy,
Tried earlier on Kx software on the sound --it can install but no sound output when play media. As for the graphic --it can be installed but the picture flashes when u use the mouse rollin up/down the pages. also it causes a blue screen when shutting down occur. Anyway thanks everyone for the effort.

I have a machine with a similar vintage ATI card and when I installed the older CCC version, it hosed up the display. What worked, was doing the following:
1) Revert to the default MS video driver
2) Remove the full ATI CCC suite
3) Reinstall ATI, but this time, only the video driver, not the CCC stuff
4) Reboot

After that, the video worked fine. I don't have CCC, but with that old a card, you're not going to get advanced features anyway.
