drivers at start up

Hi is it normal for w7 to install drivers evey time its booted?not sure if it is checking for driver updates, if it is is there a way to turn it off?

Nope that's not normal. But since you're not sure if it's checking for drivers, can you make a screenshot and show us what's going on? Or let us know what message(s) it gives you?

If you are using a MS keyboard with the old driver,yes. Upgrade to the new driver.

Hi I can't get a screen shot as it happens on start up I think it comes from the action center the message is that it is installing drivers one of the drivers is audio there is several others I will try and get more info.

I had this happen with a M/S keyboard after downloading new drivers from M/S. It went away after about 3 restarts. I can't believe it took that may restarts to get the new drivers to install. My keyboard is wireless.

Do you have a windows DVD?
If so maybe a repair install would solve this problem http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html

Hi would you mind telling me why its not worth it?

I have service pack one installed it would mean uninstalling doing the repair and downloading the service pack again,then there could be problems after the repair just not worth the risk of things that could go wrong.I hope to build another pc this year i7

Repair install fixes the registry.
Nothing to do with drivers unless the Updater is messed up.

If you find the offending driver and hardware go into Device Manager delete the driver and then reinstall. Usually a glitch in the driver software.
