Drivers for Hauwei Modem not Installing Properly

Hi guys,

I've been having some trouble with my Win 7 64bit machine for a few months, and now its time to bring the giant down!

Yesterday I bought a new 3G modem (Hauwei 1752) and this, just like previous modems, won't install properly on my system.

It does install some of the drivers properly, and windows reports it as working properly. But one driver fails. The Cell C software does pick up the modem, but can't use it to connect.

In Device Manager, the modem has a yellow exclamation mark next to it, saying the drivers didn't install properly

The modem works perfectly in my XP machine.

I have downloaded the latest 64bit drivers from Cell C. But when I install the .exe, it seems like nothing happens.

I have tried just about everything: uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting after every step, running in Admin mode etc.

I was on the phone with Cell C's technical support and they seem pretty convinced that its a problem with my PC. And I think they're right.

Its an Hauwei 1752 modem. And I can't find drivers for it on the Hauwei site

I don't know if I've got the proper USB drivers for my Intel H55 TC installed, but I believe its the latest from here. Called INF_allOS_9.1.2.1008_PV.exe?

I even updated my boards BIOS today

What can be done?

So, any ideas?

I think you need aswell this one:

Intel® Management Engine Interface Driver version 6.1.0.1042
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18532&lang=eng

Does your bios was the one on Intel?
"TCIBX10H.86A.0044.EB.EXE
Version: 0044"

Try to uninstall the drivers Cell C. Then reinstall without plugging the modem onto the desktop computer, Windows 7 might pick up the right one after reboot. Otherwise it installs generic drivers that might mess the install.

Dear PvW,
The "best practises" method to start installing drivers is to first install the chipset drivers. You can proceed from there on! Kindly get back and tell us how it went.

Dear PvW,
Previously i was unable to install the latest compatible Realtek audio driver for my desktop. Three days back,i downloaded the latest compatible Realtek one and tried to install it in safe mode! Voila! Success! What i was unable to do since 3-4 months was over in a jiffy!
I suggest you try to install the modem drivers in safe mode!
Best wishes,
Sreedhav:)
