Solved Drivers Included in Install

I'm not sure if this was answered or not (I couldn't find at least) but I followed the tutorial on how to create a recovery partition for my system and was wondering if there was a way to include the drivers for my system within that partition? I've got a custom build and the drivers for some of my devices aren't included in the windows 7 drivers store but I got the actual driver files for all of them.

A Recovery Image should already have all of the drivers installed, in fact the OS should be set up and have its image captured when its running best. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

It should also be stored externally (most use an External or another HD) in case of HD failure.

If what you did instead is use a Boot manager to create a bootable partition with the Win7 installation files then you'd still follow the steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to run and set up the install.

Drivers in Win7 are provided by the installer and during all rounds of Important and Optional Windows Updates immediately after install, and after enabling Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3). You'll likely only have to import a few drivers from the Toshiba Support Downloads webpage for your model afterwards, which you could store in the partition once you know which they will be. I'd also store there the Wireless driver so you have quick access to it so you can get online.

Sorry, I forgot to update my system specs once I got my new machine a couple of days ago. I have a custom build machine with different drivers for each device. The unfortunate thing is that my Ethernet controller's driver is not in the windows driver store so it can not be installed, and with that, I can not run windows update due to the fact that my controller's driver is out. So I had to find and download the drivers on a separate older lenovo machine which took longer than it should. But anyways, I got the driver files already for all of the devices, I've made the bootable recovery partition but I need to somehow incorporate the downloaded drivers into the installation of windows. The recovery partition, just as it is, has the contents of my windows disc, nothing more. So the drivers I downloaded are not installed with windows. How would I do this with what I have? After I test my recovery partition, I'll back it up to a CD and make an .iso image of it so that I have multiple copies.

You can slipstream the drivers into the installer ISO using 7Lite but it's a lot of work and would be much easier to just load them into the same Recovery partition you've created to install manually if needed after all Windows Updates are done. Obviously you'll need the Ethernet driver to get online to run your Updates to completion.

The modern way to do this BTW is the backup image I wrote about for you earlier. Then you have your customized install all ready to reimage in 20 minutes, stored separately in case of HD failure although it could be put on a partition if you're wed to that idea.

All the drivers for the motherboard are on the ASUS Drivers CD/DVD.

As the new MOBO's now have a uEFI/BIOS firmware.
