Hello, I'm new but I'll do my best to explain the problem.

After leaving the computer the Shut Down & Install Updates, I came back to my computer showing the following:
SATA Secondry drive 0 not found
Primary drive 1 not found
Secondry drive 0 not found
Secondry drive 1 not found

I've tried booting in Safe Mode, but it only sits on a plain loading bar for a while, never leaves it. I tried booting it regularly, it installed the 7000+ updates & then rebooted & the same loading screen appeared.
I'm assuming it is because of the update, so I should rollback, but I may need assistance with that too.:o

Thanks for the help in advance. :D

I believe it is F8 that pulls up the advanced boot options screen. IIRC their is a start-up repair option and a system restore option in there. Try both.

iScuzzy hi and welcome

You always have to be careful when downloading updates for windows in general. We recommend that you set it to notify you but not install so you can pick and choose which ones you want to install.

Do you have a backup from prior to the update that we can restore from?

What about a windows 7 dvd to do either a repair install or clean install?
If you have the dvd can you try booting from it and on booting (if sucessfull) hit shift-F10. that should get you to a command prompt.

Can you boot from the dvd? Does it take you to a cmd prompt?

Let us know if you need assistance with any of this

The only backup I have is from the automatic backup.

I have only received the computer from a friend this month, & I don't have the dvd available right now, but will be able to get the dvd from my friend in the next few days, but if possible, I would like to resolve it asap by other means. If there is not another solution, it's no problem.

I have done nothing different, just left it to boot normally & the log on screen has now appeared. Will repost if any problems persist.
Many thanks!

Okay, Have now had the same problem, I restored the system settings and now can't get to the log on screen at all. Drives still not found and cannot boot. I had the DVD yesterday, but now had to be returned, but all was well when I had the DVD.
Will I have to re-install windows?
