Hi there,

I have two computers on the same network that I use in tandem. Computer 1 has my dropbox folder and the entire disk is shared on my network for read AND write. Computer 2 is dedicated to running a CNC machine, and I do not wish it to run dropbox, but I want it to access the dropbox folder on Computer 1 via network share. Currently, when I attempt to access this folder from Computer 2 I recieve an "Access Denied" message, but I'm able to access all other folders on the share. What steps do I need to take to be able to write onto this dropbox folder from my other computer?

Thanks in advance,
Matthew

Hi there!

Welcome to SF.

What your looking for is to set file permissions for the shared folder, i believe Dropbox only gives the local installer account full control. Which you need to remedy

Can you try following this link http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/24232-sharing-permissions.html and seeing how you get on with it?

Hope this helps.
