It rained at night and the windows was slightly open, even though the laptop and window is around 2 metre away some droplet of rain manage to hit the top cover of the laptop. Is this a cause for concern, this laptop was has not been turn on yet.
Hello LT mate I would think it would need a good amount to get the machine wet enough to do any damage - a few drops on the back of the closed monitor is no cause for concern unless the water actually was enough to dribble down the sides and into say the ports.
If it were me I would just check those first with a bright light ie torch and check for any damp.

2metres!! With a slightly open window that must of been one heck of a shower! I'd have to agree with ICIT2, did you pat it dry with a towel before you moved it, have you tried turning it on yet to do the smoke test?

The rain was quite big, the laptop wasn't moved or turn on at all cause not sure if its a wise thing to do. The only that was done was closing the windows. The ports aren't facing the direction of the windows, but the cover felt damp as if it has just been wipe by a slightly wet cloth.
Yep I guess if you have air conditioning then open the top panel and leave it to dry out - in any case it certainly doesn't sound like a lot of water has got into it - if at all.

Well it has been raining for 2 days straight, it looks dry with water spotted, doesn't seem to have any water around the table. Its not that wet for water to drop down.
I'd do like ICIT2, and Megahertz recommended if you haven't already; Open the lid and let it dry out, if you have a fan, place it near-by so the laptop has airflow over it, direct the airflow into the ports side and if the laptop has an optical drive open it.
After a day or so fire it up and see how it goes, even though your apprehension level will beat at +10 it sounds to me that you have nothing to worry about.
