Dual Boot One HDD?

when i run the instillation for 6956 it gives me the option to

a)Clean Install
b)Custom

i still want to keep my windows vista Ultimate my primary OS
but i only have one hard drive so is it possibly to save windows 7 to the same drive as my vista and be able to boot them both

Yes; choose custom and point it to the empty partition that does not have Vista on it.

so if i click cuxstom then theres only one Drive that comes up (the one with vista on it) i can still continue like see more options about partitions

Excuse me if I am talking down to you, but from the nature of the question, I assume you are an "average" user? I get the impression that you have Vista installed on a single partition hard disk?
You must first create anpther partition for Windows 7. You can do this through the Administrative tools - Computer management facility. A 50/50 split is fine at this stage. You will probably have to "shrink" your Vista partition.

Yep, shrink the Vista volume and create a new partition. next time you select custom at the installation screen, select the newly created partition. Give it about 40GB if you can for some wiggle room.

Just like to add that the Advanced options in the installer gives access to basic disk management functions, if you have free space on the drive the partition may be created, formatted etc. from here

Saying that I always find the a little preparation work before you start a dual boot install is the best, and safest way.

And even with the reliability of recent installers, and disk management software the first thing is ....

Backup everything that you cannot afford to lose from existing systems before you even think about dual boot

Dual boot win7 x64 + x32

I recently installed Win 7 x64 as my new OS.I couldn't be happier!!However,,I wanted to install MSFS,I did and it was very easy to setup and runs very well.My issue is that some gauges I like to use will only work on a 32bit sys(bummer)so I was wondering if it is possible to have both the 32 bit and 64 bit on the same HD.My HD does have 4 partitions.Also do I need 2 separate license?Or should I just run 2 HD's.Can anyone toss this back to me?
