Dual boot problem

Hello people,
I tried to create a partition for dual booting,
I created a volume WITHOUT formatting.
I couldnt install windows 10 on the volume, so I came back to delete the partition. When I came back, it had no letters and when I clicked delete it said " Cant find the file specified".
Please help!

Well, now I am in school and I can only describe it ubtil I get back home.
It looks normal, but that partition has NO letter or name, it just says 60 GB and healthy

Right click on that partition in Disk Management.

Either finish the partition ( format it and give it a letter ) or just delete it to un allocated space, you can still install 10 on that.

Just post the shot of DM when you can, we will go from there.

Notice how one of the partitions has only 59 GB and says Healty?

Did you try command line with "diskpart"? Common commands are here: DiskPart Command-Line Options

See if you can format or delete the volume this way.

I listed the partitions, but it did not list the one with 58 GB, and it is still in the disk management.

You are in bigger trouble. All your partitions are dynamic. You have to delete the 58.5 GB partition and then reconvert all partitions with PW422 which you can download from here.

And before you attempt to make another partition, you have to convert one of the remaining 4 partitions to a logical partition. I would suggest the tools partition.

Yep, you can`t do anything until you turn that disk back to basic.

You can only have 4 primary partitions on a windows disk.

Just put 10 in a VM, it`s not even worth the effort of a dual boot yet.

Download Windows Technical Preview November Update - Microsoft Windows

and use VMWare Player. (last one on the list)

The problem is that you converted your HD to Dynamic which is only meant to be used to span a partition across multiple HD's. Apparently you didn't see the warning message when you added a partition.

You can only have four Primary partitions or 3 Primary and unlimited adjacent Logicals. Had you asked us we would have advised you that to keep HP Recovery and Diagnostics tools (OEM) partitions bootable you'd need to convert C to Logical to add another adjacent partition.

The solution to reconvert to Basic non-destructively is to boot free Partition Wizard CD version 4.2 which is the last one which offers this as a free feature.

Download the "pwhe42.iso" file here, rightclick to burn it to CD using Windows Image Burner, or use ImgBurn.

Back up the files on partition which tipped disk to Dynamic which will need to be deleted before disk will convert back to Basic. If it won't boot you can Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console.

After conversion to Basic, set C to Logical then create a new adjacent Logical partition for Win8:

I've been trying to download the Partition Wizard CD version 4.2 for several hours and I keep getting the error message below.
I've tried different browsers and different PCs.
Is it just me getting this error, an MS issue, ... ?
