Dual Boot Question

Hi Everyone,

I have a computer with Windows 7 (64 bit installed). Recently I discovered that my handycam doesn't have any drivers suited to installation into the 64 bit version.

I decided to install XP (purely so that I could get footage off my camera) onto another drive, so as not to affect my Windows 7 install.

At the moment I am physically disconnecting cables when jumping between operating systems.

I would like to install a 3rd party boot manager so that I can leave both drives connected and choose which OS to boot when starting up.

My configuration is:

Windows 7 on SATA
Windows XP on IDE

Can anybody recommend good boot management software that will work with the drive configuration outlined above?

Download EasyBCD 2 , install it in windows 7 . Run it, Click on Add new entry


Now click on Windows tab . Give the type Windows XP , and click on add entry . When done restart your computer . The windows entry will be included in windows boot manager ... you would be able to choose the OS while booting .


Otherwise you may search in your hardware manual for the boot time drive chooser key ... to choose which disk is to boot up at every boot .

Why plug and unplug the cables when you have a BIOS Boot Menu from which you can choose which HD to boot?

Set preferred OS to boot first in BIOS setup, then if you want the other OS use the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key at bootup to choose it's HD instead.
