dual boot - remove xp partition. help please

Hi all,
I have a dual installation windows 7 - xp in a single hard drive, 2 partitions. (there was xp installed first, then i created the dual boot to add w7)
Now I dont use xp anymore and I want to completely delete that partition, but Im really confused after reading a lot of other similar posts.
apparently, w7 partition is marked as boot, but xp partition is marked as system...

Quickest way:

open an admin command prompt, type:

bcdboot c:\windows /s c:

diskpart

sel vol c

act

exi

Close cmd prompt, then restart pc.

If after running SIW2's commands it boots Win7 on C then providing C has now become marked System Active in Disk Mgmt, you can delete XP to recover the space into Win7 if desired using Partition Wizard bootable CD - Resize Partition Video Help.

If not mark Win7 partition Active, reboot into the Win7 installer or System Repair Disk to run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times.
