Dual Boot system counted as 1 or 2 Computes?

I have a Dual Boot Windows 7 and XP, I need to update my Anti Virus software? Is this machine (As its only really one computer) counted as one or two computers when installing the software onto both operating systems?

As for software stated as 1 user 3 PC's for example?

Every program I know would make you have a separate activation key for each operating system you use it on.

I think you will need to activate your anti-virus twice.

You might consider a free one on the OS you use the least....like MSE or Avast

That is correct. A multi-boot system can be thought of as 2 or more separate OSes sharing the same hardware. Applications that you wish to run on more than one of these OSes must be installed to each one that you want to run it on and, if the application requires activation (as is the case with Anti-Virus), it must be activated on each OS separately and with a unique key if necessary. For information, I am using Avast! on my system (4 OSes, 4 installs) and I can use the same activation key on each install. Other AVs may be different.

This is good to know. I though I had tried it with Avast about a year ago but maybe I;m mistaken.
