dual boot time not responding

i can change boot time in system properties or in msconfig but the time not changing in boot manager list it stays on 30 sec whatever i change it.

i have dual boot win 7 and vista. please help me fix that.thank you

Try reading through this tutorial for instructions on how to use BCDEDIT to change the boot time.

Open an http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/783-elevated-command-prompt.html and type the following command bcdedit /timeout 10 Note that you can include whatever number you want, and that will be the delay in seconds. I suggest 10 because that gives you sufficient time to invoke the alternative OS if you want.

i did what you said but it changed in system properties and msconfig but did not change 30 sec in boot manager list(not responding).

You may want to run the command bootrec /rebuildBCD.

Here is another thought:

Go to msconfig, under the Boot tab, make sure the box "Make all settings permanent" is unchecked.
