Have just built a new computer. Installed new 1tb western digital black hard drive then put windows 7 operating system on and am trying to put windows 8 on a second partition but keep getting a windows error message saying : windows can't be installed on drive 0: partition 3 as selected disk has an mbr partition table. On EFI systems windows can only be installed to GPT disks.
Have already done this once on my laptop without any problems so don't understand why it won't work on my desktop
Can anyone advise me what to do
thanks
Glenn:cry:

You obviously have a Legacy Win7 install to MBR disk if you're getting that error after already installing Win7.

I would enter BIOS setup and make sure Secure Boot is disabled, CSM or Legacy is fully enabled with Legacy boot first. Then choose the installation media as a non-UEFI device if you are given any UEFI choices during install.

If this fails post back camera snaps of your BIOS Advanced and Boot tabs showing CSM, Legacy and UEFI choices.

Make sure also you have good Win8 media that has proven install elsewhere.
