Hi everyone. I have time on my hands so I would like to dual boot Windows 7( Inspiron 560MT) and Windows Vista. Windows Vista is 32 bits. Can I install it with windows 7 which is 64 bits. I quickly read the tutorial concerning the above, but what drivers do you use when you get Vista installed. Do you use the Windows 7 drivers or the 32 bit Vista drivers. Any help will be appreciated. deanie44

Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and Vista - Windows 7 Forums

Follow the steps above. Once you get your partition formatted, you'll have to boot the Vista installer to install if another bit version. The installer should configure the Dual Boot menu. If not, use EasyBCD 2.0 to add Win7 from Vista.

Use the drivers given by the installer, then updated via optional Windows Updates. If any drivers are then missing in Device Manager, import them from the Dell Support Downloads webpage for your service tag under Vista drivers.

Have a look at this guide:
Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and Vista

Before you commit to it, i'd make sure that you have access to your drivers on a seperate cd you got from your manufacturer, a cd you created from a utility that came with the computer, or via there website.

As for what drivers you need, see if you can navigate to your model from Dell's website, via Service Tag or Model number.

Vista once installed, you will have to install vista drivers for your specific components.
The same applies to Windows 7.
