dual monitors not working

I recently installed windows 7 on my toshiba qosmio f25-av205 with a the geforce go 6600 graphic card and I tried to attach a 2nd monitor to the laptop (sceptre 22") but the 2nd monitor does not display anything when connected and remains black and in standby mode. If I restart the computer with the 2nd monitor plugged in, the laptop's primary screen goes black and the 2nd monitor then displays the regular windows screen.
When i go to the nvidia control panel, it recognizes that two monitors are available and it will even show that the two monitors are on duplicate screen or extended screen, however only one monitor will actually be working.
I've updated my nvidia driver first by using windows update, then by getting updated drivers from laptopvideo2go, but none of the drivers i've used seem to give me two screens working at the same time.
I've tried pressing the windows symbol+p, and it will show that the screens should be duplicated or extended, but only one screen will work. Once the 2nd monitor is working I cannot get the main laptop screen working until I unplug the 2nd monitor and restart my computer.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me out.

Welcome!

Certainly sounds like a driver issue. I am having a little trouble locating them for your card. First, are you sure that your card is 6600 and Go? I cannot find a Geforce 6 Go series. Another problem is that I do not know whether you have the 32 or 64-bit Windows.

Here is the link to the driver site: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

Hopefully you can have better luck than I did.

Hope this helps,
~Jonathan

Yea, it's a GeForce Go 6600. It's a pretty old model and the nvidia site does not have updates for it. When I went to the nvidia site and scanned my computer for updates, the site recommended that I go to the computer manufacturers site for updates, but toshiba didn't have any.
I'm running the 32bit windows 7.

You may have your answer. If the card is too old, it may not work properly with Windows 7. Look around, maybe another driver will work. Try using Vista drivers and ones for the Geforce 6 series.

Bios

in the bios look for control for VGA+LCD and enable it also on a lot of laptops there is in the F key row on the keyboard a key with the picture of a screen on it and usually if you press that and the fn function key lower left on keyboard that will toggle the external display on or off so check that stuff out before you bang your head to hard lol...
