Dual Montitors

Hi there,

I am having trouble getting a second monitor to work with 7. When I plug it in it automatically mirrors my main monitor but cannot be detected when I go to display settings. This was not a problem in Vista.

Any ideas?

Are you using both of the connectors on the graphics card? One for each monitor. Have you installed the latest nvidia or ati drivers? If you have you should be able to set up dual display fairly easily.

hi i dont no if you are interested or have heard of DisplayFusion: Multi-Monitor Taskbar and Desktop Wallpaper by binaryfortress software? i tried it on a trial and soon learnt the benefits and can honestly say its the best software i have used for duel monitors

Its a GeForce 8600M GT, My computers a Laptop so it only has the one socket for the monitor.

I was having this issue with a friend of mines computer. He has XP Pro, and it was up and running when I connected his Sony 32" LCD as a 2nd monitor. It was mirroring the LCD monitor.

It wasn't untill I rebooted the computer that the Sony became an individual display.
