Hi.
I've read many posts regarding this subject but have not find a solution so I hope you'll be able to help me.

I have Windows 7 home premium 32bit (genuine of course), and have installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit yesterday.
After ultimate finished installing everything worked fine. I restarted and booted the 32bit to set up the boot names and order in EasyBCD, but the windows 64 bit option was not there. I went to the boot tab in MSCONFIG, And what was there is:
Windows 7 32bit Current OS deault OS
Windows 7 32bit Current OS deault OS

That's right, twice!
I restarted and sure enough I had 2 options to go to my windows 32bit OS, both leading to the exact same OS, I checked, and NO windows 64bit option! The files are all there on drive E (32bit was installed on C So I installed ultimate on E), but for some reason the computer had forgotten that it was installed, and decided to think that there are two default current 32bit windows 7s.

I'm stumped, please help me. :(

You can add the 64 bit using easybcd. Select the add option, Windows 7, drive E:\. Then view your settings to confirm it is there. You can also delete one of the 32 bit entries. I have experienced duplicates before and I was able to delete one of them without problem.

Hello amld, welcome to Seven Forums!

If you get the Windows managed dual boot option at PC boot/startup enter both and in the Windows start menu right click Computer and select Properties and make sure that both are the same thing and there wasn't an error when they were renamed using EasyBCD.

All 3 replies so far are strong possibilities until you determine otherwise.

If you'll post back a screenshot of your full Disk Mgmt drive map with listings showing all columns, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu, we can help you better. Include also the listings from EasyBcd. EasyBCD 2.0.2 - NeoSmart Technologies
