Hi.
I have just acquired one and have doing some reading on how to get it working in Windows...

www.davieslim.com/ps3/use-ps3-controller-in-windows-wireless-bluetooth/

www.hardcoreware.net/how-to-playstation-3-controller-64-bit-windows-7-vista/

*Note* Keep in mind that installing unsigned drivers is considered by Microsoft to be a major security issue (or a major source of income, depending on who you listen to), so to use these drivers on a 64-bit OS, you will need to use F8 to boot every time. There are ways to permanently disable signed drivers in 64-bit Windows
Does anyone else use the Dualshock on Win 7 x64, how did you get it working, is it stable? I'm just about to follow the steps at the second link, and I'll come back to let you know how it went.

So far so good, and I have full cable control, but it is showing as a keyboard (see attachment).

I'll test it with PES 2009, then try with Bluetooth.

i have read that the bluetooth connection is pretty much impossible. i dont know why, maybe some programing in the controller that tells windows to go f... you get the idea.

Yeah, seems about right. I managed to install the actual drivers for bluetooth, but then I lose the use of bluetooth, so god knows.

I'll keep trying, but looks like I'll just be using it with a cable for a while, but then it only works with with certain games.

if you have 20 bucks to spare, i can direct you to the most useful controller program ever made .... ever. Pinnacle Game Profiler can make profiles for any game / app / whatever. it supports virtually any game pad (including ps3 & Wii-mote). it's pretty easy to use, and has an ever expanding collection of premade profile. i honestly could not do without it.

theres 30 day free (full featured) tial, if you wanted to play around with it.

Thanks for the link, but I also have a 360 controller which I'll use if it doesn't work with certain games. But I got the DS3 to be able to use BT, the problem is it's my built in BT that isn't supported just yet.

well i hope so. i like the PS3 controller a lot better. seems less clunky, and if it could work wirelessly. well, that would be the cats ___.

the 360 controller is nice, but i've always just been a fan of the PS controller.

i had an older model of that one. the battery pack was a little bulky. pretty much the reason i have a wired 360 pad, instead of a wireless one. the ps3 one has the battery contained without an extrusion on the controller. nice and sleek ;)

those logitech pads are decent. i had mine for over 3 years before it kicked the bucket.
