Hey guys, morning to you. I have explorer pinned to the start menu. When I click it, it opens up my computer. When I double click on a drive, that drive opens in a new window, twice. So I have two windows open showing the same thing. If I single click and wait, nothing happens.

What causes this and how can I keep it from opening my D drive twice

What do you have in "click items as follows" - single-click to open an item, or double-click?

What happens when you select single click?
Also, what happens when you right click on the drive, and select Expand and Open In A New Window?

Single click does what it says, it works. Expand and open in a new wnidow works, it opens one window. Double clicking opens two.

Also something of note, if I go straight to my computer from desktop then double click on the drive, one window opens. It's only when I click on the explorer shortcut in my taskbar. Which is only there because I pinned my D drive to it.

What happens when you open Explorer from the Taskbar, and click on your C drive?

Same thing. It opens two C drive windows. If I close both and try again, it then only opens one. This doesn't make any sense, its no big deal, its just a minor inconvinience :P This was happening in the RC1 days too

Well, at least single click works with your Taskbar shortcut.

Check Mouse Settings Double Click speed.
Also try replacing the mouse and see if the problem persists.

Did anyone ever find a solution for this? I have the exact same problem.

EDIT: I fixed mine, hopefully this works with your problem as well.

I found this thread to be helpful:
http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/48503-question-about-windows-explorer-taskbar.html

A little more info though-

I searched for "explorer" in the start menu search and saw two entries. I checked the properties and each one had a different target. I deleted the one that was pinned to the task bar and changed the target of the other to

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

then re-pinned it and it works fine now.
