Duplicating an install question

I just bought two exactly identical computers from Dell with Windows 7 Professional installed on them.

I just spent several hours setting one of them up exactly the way I want it with all installed applications and settings and I want the 2nd computer to be setup the same way.

If I make an image of the drive using Acronis True Image and restore the image to the second computer, will it give me the opportunity to change the Windows Activation Code so I can set it to what it should be on the 2nd computer?

If it matters, I have already activated the 1st computer.

Thanks

I would have waited to activate until you copy over the image to the second HD.

However, you do have the ability to change the key at the Computer>Properties activation status link.

If there is any problem, just run a Repair Install over the second installation which resets the activation as well as refreshes the hardware signature.

No you have to reinstall programs with EasyTrans.

You're plan is a good one. Win7 is def up to it.

I move HD's all the time without the same hardware, as you have here.
