DVD Burning Issues

You might try entering device manager and finding the entry for your burner. Right click and select "delete," then OK and close device manager. Reboot.

This should cause Windows to redetect the burner and reinstall the drivers for the device and (hopefully) make sure the all of the other required .dll files required for burning are present and sane.

I tried this. but it doesn't work .

There's cashe/buffer for DVD burning, default in C: Drive, so you need at least 4.3GB empty space in C:\, otherwise you have to change the buffer to other drive

I'm having the same issues. I can burn songs, pictures, but not videos. I can't even burn the videos as data instead of as a movie(in DVD maker)I've used a DVD-R, DVD+R and DVD-RW discs, none will work. I'm using an HP Pavillion purchased last November. This problem just started recently. I've tried un-installing the drive, system restore, Windows troubleshooting, etc. Everything that Google has led me to try, I've tried it.

I recently contacted HP and they would not agree there was a problem regardless of any evidence showing otherwise its a compatability issue in my opinion it must be. I have 3 month old brand new pc with winows 7 and all other software pre-installed from hp ( Also used other burning software. ) and it cuts out during encoding process while burning avi - to dvd, yet run it on xp or vista it encodes and burns everytime. So i no longer burn dvd's but data dvd seems fine or i use usb pen drive, i now have 2 hd dvd players which are div x, and usb compatable and i just don,t use dvd anymore as knowing my luck it would burn out after warranty expires.

I have had my Blue Ray (BD-0) DVD replaced on my Brand New Studio Laptop by Dell under warranty even though I told them it was not a hardware issue... But they insisted

Since it has been replaced I get exactly the same problem - that is that ST Service Scheduler comes up as having failed when trying to burn a disc... but - THIS IS GOOD!! because whenever it does, my CD or DVD (any formats) will burn!! When it doesn't fail, the disc burn just goes on and on and on and on... and you have to cold boot at the power switch.

Currently though the burn fail is 33% which is expensive and unacceptable when you burn data discs as I do for my home business/sales.

After DELL replaced the disc they contacted me again and I spent yet more online time with them connected to my machine over Net for them to finally tell me - we cannot help any further as this is a driver issue! I TOLD THEM THAT DAY 1 !!!

DELL BIOS upped me, added new Roxio fixes... all not good - no burn software works on my W7 pro, so has to be done longhand each time which is F-ing pathetic seeing as my XP Thinkkpad was perfect with Nero previously.

Problems burning DVD movies in Windows 7 here as well

I've tried two burners. Both have issues. Seems I have better luck with DVD-R then DVD+RW (I prefer the RWs).
One is an LG super multi blue and one is a samsung super writemaster.
Both are SATA so I wonder about that.
I frequently use DVDFAB to burn just the main movie back to DVD so I can skip all the junk and go right to the movie. (works great if you have kids and Disney DVDs.. they put so many ads at the beginning AND I PAID FOR IT LOL!)
anyway, I've tried the built in VSO burning engine with DVDFAB, the mastered windows burn, Nero 10.. something just isn't working like it did in XP.
If I copy the source files back to my old windows xp workstation, I can burn using anything and it reads fine.
Windows 7 ultimate x64 with 4gb ram and plenty of free hd space.

Maybe a possible answer??????????

Hi all you frustrated burners :-)

Like you I too had my fair share of frustrations, however,

Nowadays I use Mpeg Video Wizards DVD editor to prepare the VIDEO_TS drawer and then swap over to the Free Vidoes to DVD software to do the burning.

This is the only piece of buring software I`ve found that works on my ACER 7535G
laptop with Windows 7.

It most definitely IS Win 7 that`s the problem. Don`t be told anything different.
If it wasn`t then I too wouldn`t be able to burn, but V2DVD works so good luck.

I`m fairly new, only had a PC since Feb 2010, to the scene since my Amiga 2000 went down if 1990. So Win 7 my intro to the world of PC`s. Not overly impressed but do love that this forum is here to help with my multitude of problems.

If this helps, don`t forget to give me a bit of rep. Bye :-)

Trouble burning DVD

When burning DVD with nero on Win 7 Pro, system locks up...I take that sata cable off the MB and put it on a Promise sata controllor card it burns fine. Tried this on 3 different motherboards, Biostar A760G, A780L, MSI 785gtm-e45 and have had same results..

Does anyone know why I can burn dvd when the writer is attached to the
promise Sata 300 TX4 card and not when it is attached to the sata ports on 3 different motherboards?

Also the writer will burn while attached to the motherboard with win XP.

AMD X2 5000
Sony 7260 writer

Nero is currently incompatible with Win 7... Will not run at all on my Dell Studio at all. Have contacted both MS and Ahead and they have confirmed this, both urging to purchase the latest version (I tried versions 6, 7 and 9 and still no go).
