DVD drivers

3 weeks after installing Win 7 neither of my 2 DVD drives is recognized, in Device Manager there are yellow exclamation marks when I downloaded new drivers I got the message that an Available Target could not be found. I have a Pioneer DVD RW 112D IDE and a Plextor PX-740 UF USB. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried uninstalling those bad drives from device manager and right clicking on DVD/CD-ROM drives to scan for hardware changes.

Your Pioneer drive should be found automatically, i would suspect a hardware problem.

For the USB device right click on it in device manager, go to properties, update driver, browse my computer,
let me pick from a list of drivers.

Make sure the driver is extracted somewhere like a new folder on your desktop and point to that path to install driver.

Also in addition to the above. I have uninstalled in windows7, power OFF the computer, remove the power cable & data (or USB) cables to the DVD/CD drives. Then power UP , Let windows fully load to the desktop, then power OFF, again.
Re-Connect the power & data cables to the drives, making sure they are correctly fitted in place. Power UP, & see if windows finds them & the drivers.
