Hi,

There is something wrong with my DVD-drive whenever I put a data CD it spins very fast and makes too much of noise while reading the data...

Some drives will do that. With some drives it is the way it was made. Some of the problem could be the disc. Have you tried a different disc?

Also check the mounting of the drive in the case. It may be loose.

Ya, I tried different CDs as well as DVDs and it continues to makes too much of spinning noise and it is really irritating, but ya when I tried HP RW-CD it make any noise and in fact when I format the RW-CD it worked pretty smoothly I mean in a normal way...

Surprising ?? Is it due good quality CDs/DVDs, but again the same thing couple of months the CD-ROM was working smooth I mean without making too much of noise...

Should I try lens cleanser or something like that...
