DVD not burning after win 7 installation.

After days of reading and reading I have decided to seek the help of your guys. I installed Windows 7 about a month ago, I've been having countless problems since that day, problems with no blue-tooth device been found, itunes not detecting the iphone and now this one, problems when trying to burn a movie using Windows DVD maker. For some reason I get a message that says that there was an error during the process but it does not give me a reason or number on the other hand if I burn a short clip lets say of a 2 or 3 minutes long it would burn fine. I have posted a jpeg file of the screen shot. The movie I'm trying to burn into a dvd was ripped into a wmv file. Any help would be appreciated. JIM

Did you upgrade or clean install? If you upgraded, format and clean install. If you have clean installed, go through the troubleshooting guide in my sig.

Still no luck, spend the day yesterday dealing with this problem, i'm only able to burn short clips, nero, img burn, none of the work. I'm thinking that I should go back to vista, any ideas?.

Have you made sure everything is connected snugly internally? Any IDE connectors on the system?

Everything is connected, as I mentioned before I managed to burn a couple of short clips but for some reason a regular movie won't burn. Should I go back to Vista?.

Just wanted to let you all know that a friend of mine recommended to me a free program called Format Factory, I converted the movie file from .wmv to .avi and finally the darn thing worked!!. Why?, don't ask me I have no idea, but finally resolved the problem, Thanks everyone for all your help, keep up the good work. Thanks,JIM

Note that the more you convert and change the video file(s) quality is worsened. Incidentally, use Imgburn to burn the data or Windows Explorer.
