about my DVD player..does not work
with a DVD, but can work at VCD..

what is the best solution..?

I'm sorry, but I'm having trouble understanding your problem. Are you saying your DVD drive won't read DVDs, but it will read CDs?

How long has the problem been going on?

Could you post the model number of your CD/DVD drive? Use Speccy to find out.

Try updating the drivers for the device.

Have you tried uninstalling VCD? Sometimes the vitual software can make drives dissapear, or lose function.

i didn't uninstalling VCD,
5months ago i uninstall 1 of my games in my laptop
that is NFS most wanted.

after the uninstalling process..
i enter a DVD movie, but didn't play
the movie, only VCD movie can read,

Also... You should try deleting your upper and lower filters.

Follow this path

Type "Regedit" into Windows search, hit enter.

*HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
*SYSTEM
*CurrentControlSet
*Control
*Class
*{4D36E965-E325-11CE-
BFC1-08002BE10318}

In the right hand panel... Rt. click these entries and delete.

*UpperFilters
*LowerFilters
*UpperFilters.bak
*LowerFilters.bak

Close the Registry Editor and reboot your PC

Let us know how it goes.

Can you confirm that the physical drive is a DVD drive and not a CD-ROM Drive? If it is a CD-ROM drive, there is no way you will be able to play or read and DVD's on that drive. Do you have the model number for your PC?

I did a qucik search for the model in your system specs and here is the link for the drivers for your laptop:

If you are able to install the drivers but the DVD still does not work, then it could probably be a hardware failure on your DVD-Drive. Unless someone else steps in, the only solution you may have is to replace the DVD/CD Drive.

Are we talking about a DVD movie, data disk or something else?

Please download Shark's codec pack from Shark007.net he attends these forums and it's a good pack, so I like to promote it. This will ensure that the correct codecs are installed on your machine. Make sure that you get the 32 bit version for your configuration.

Also the DVD may be right protected and you simply may not be able to play it on your PC. Try to download SlySoft AnyDVD the trial version should tell you if your DVD is protected.

Lastly, Your DVD player may be in a different zone to the disk, for you this can happen if the DVD was not purchased in the Philippines, or if your DVD drive was purchased overseas.

Also, as I suggested earlier privately, try GOMPLAYER.
