DVD problems burning. Saying I need more space on fresh disc.

This happens periodically on my HP Pavillion p6813w.
This time it seems to be here to stay!!!!!

I'll load a fresh DVD to burn files to.
Click the digit to burn to DVD as opposed to USB.

Try to cut/paste some stuff. 4.0 GBs let's say.

Window pops up telling me I need 3 more GBs of space.

I've restart and a few other things. New disc. Am attempting new app. as we speak. Etc.
Deepburner, seems to work. No wait, it's buggered as well. Says "writing drives not found'

Okay, Microsoft Fix It says there's no problem writing to disk. hummm.
The plot thickens...

ExpressBurn Trial Edition has burned my DVD. Finally.

Complete mess. Most files play properly other freeze my computer.

What are you trying to burn and where did you get it?
Did you format the DVD first?

personally I use this it's small compact does everything you need and works great with all versions of windows.
It also doesn't install virtual devices like many of the others.
