dvd rom problem

Hello everyone!

i just reformatted my pc with win 7 ultimate ... my problem is, after i installed most of my soft wares (installers on the portable hard drive), i noticed that suddenly my dvd rom cannot read anything....

I really tried everything i can but to no avail, can someone help me please?:confused::cry:

If you have a bootable CD or DVD (like a Windows installation DVD), see if you can boot the PC from it.

That'll check for whether the hardware is OK, as it doesn't involve Windows at all.

to bobkn,
my pc can boot from the dvd rom... i'm really confused, why does it cannot read when in windows already? i tried different cds and dvds...
