Hey Guys, new to here and new to windows 7 this year.(big XP supporter)

Bare with me, but I've googled for the answers and havn't found anything that could explain it to myself, so sorry if my questions have already been answered.

#1. On boot up, a image of the DVI port shows up in the upper left hand corner. This is on boot up, and on the OS launch. Is this normal? or is it something I should worry about?(a warning of some sort of the graphics card, monitor, DVI connection, etc...)

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Is this a new system with a new monitor?

It sounds like the monitor is displaying the icon for the port that it is recieving from.

There is a short period at the OS launch where no data is being sent to the monitor, monitors that are very sensetive often respond to this by displaying the "no input signal" message but if you blink you will miss it, other monitors dont have time to respond to the brief interuption and the user is none the wiser.

You have nothing to worry about, although if it bothers you can try looking in the monitors on screen menu (using the keys below the screen, not through windows), there may be a option to disable these notifications.
