Dx11 games keep alt+tabbing

So I have BC2 and Dirt 2, Whenever someone msgs me on msn the game alt+tabs it self. Even if the game isn't running in Dx11 mode. And I don't want to exit msn when playing those games. So is there a way to fix this?

I think disabling the tray pop ups from msn will keep the game from backing out. You'll only have the notification sound to go on then though.

It's been ages since I actually used msn messenger but it should be under options notifications.

Your title is misleading as this is not a DX11 problem, nor a game problem.

Maguscreed sounds like he's on to something. Try his suggestion and see what happens. No I don't know what the notifications options are in Messenger as I don't use it. Sorry.

i turned off display alerts and the game still alt+tabs itself.

This is why I use steam for gaming now, the messenger is part of the game. No matter which game your playing.

Your issue is somewhere else as "Alt-Tabbing is not part of a DX11 function, or any other DX mode (8, 9, 10 or 11). The fact that you have a DX11 setup (OS, game, GPU) doens't mean the issue belongs to DirectX. Sorry.

It sounds like you have something turned on in messenger or whatever messenging system you use, either in the game, or somewhere else that's causing the game to alt tab out.

I'm not saying you don't have the issue, I'm saying it's not caused by DirectX11.

guess i'll just use Raptr to replace msn when i play dx 11 games.
